Site Size & Condition: Wat Wat Slaeng (វត្តស្លែង - Pronounced: Woit Slaeng)

This active Buddhist monastery houses a remarkable collection of artefacts including no less than 8 lintels, pedestals, an octagonal colonette, carved Buddha steles and sema stones as well as various laterite and sandstone blocks. Certain of the lintels are cemented into the structure of the vihara and others placed outside in a small neak ta shrine and include Sambor Prei Kuk, Prei Khmeng and Khleang art styles. Many are in good condition.

Another unusual object is a large flat, grooved sandstone block or plate bearing similarities to the sections used in the construction of Asram Moha Eisei at Sambor Prei Kuk.

Overall, the items do have a collection feel and with no obvious signs of the wat itself having been constructed on an ancient site we'd suggest the artefacts originate from various tuols, and possibly other wats in the area.
