Site Size & Condition: Medium Ruin Prasat Thma Puok (ប្រាសាទថ្មពួក - Pronounced: Pra-saht T'ma Poo-uk)

Although today sadly ruined, this moated temple site, lying in the heart of modern-day Thma Puok Village, must have been a spectacular sight in its day. The wide 60-metre square moat is beautifully maintained (perhaps by monks from the bank side Wat?), and so large in proportion to the actual temple, that the layout almost resembles that of a small baray and mebon shrine.

The central area has a laterite enclosure wall and ruins of a 'library' while the main shrine was in brick and faced east. 2 ruined gopuras (east is in brick and the west laterite) correspond to east and west causeways. (The orientation is actually slightly north of east-west, as with most sites in this region.) Numerous sandstone elements are visible including some decorative elements and a door frame.

Very attractive setting even if the temple ruins themselves are underwhelming.
