Site Size & Condition: Ancient Bridge Spean Sraeng (ស្ពានស្រែង - Pronounced: Spien Sraeng)

One of the many historic bridges built by King Jayavarman VII that spans the Royal roads leading out from Angkor to the far stretches of the empire. This one in particular pretty much sits on the edge of Banteay Meanchey and Siem Reap province and was a very large bridge as it spanned 135m x 15m. Unfortunately it has not stood the test of time, and nothing remains besides a mound of laterite. The last known photo dates to the mid 1960s of the standing bridge. Nearby at the local temple are fragments of the naga balustrade.

Nearby the mound of laterite, one can find two neak ta shrines that houses fragments of the naga balustrade.
