Wat Prasat Semalai (វត្តប្រាសាទសិមាល័យ - Pronounced: Woit Pra-saht Se'ma-lai)
A large and locally prestigious Buddhist monastery reportedly constructed on top of an ancient temple site. The wat compound and main structures are aligned to between 85 and 90 degrees while rectangular ponds to the east and north are likely to be remnants of an original surrounding moat. A collection of sandstone artefacts plus several laterite blocks have been deposited in front of a small neak ta shrine which in turn houses several small sculptures and sandstone fragments including a headless, seated Buddha image. On the ground in front of the shrine are two linga pedestals, a lion statue and rectangular sandstone blocks, one of which features a Sanskrit (?) inscription. The 7 lines of text are well-preserved although no catalogue number appears to have been ascribed and we're unsure of any indicated dates.
