Site Size & Condition: Small Ruin Prasat Thma Bay Ka-aek Khang Kaeut (ប្រាសាទថ្មបាយក្អែកខាងកើត - Pronounced: Pra-saht T'mor Bay Ka-aek Karng K'ult)

An ancient ruin that is located on the south side of the Angkor Thom moat, just to the west of the access road to the South Gate, Angkor Thom Khloung Thvear Tonle Om and appears to be one of several satellite sites associated with Yasovarman I's state temple, Prasat Phnom Bakheng.

It's a small but curious site, apparently consisting of 2 unconnected but adjacent towers. To the south is a truncated brick tower on a 2-tier laterite base while the 2nd tower is missing apart from foundations and sandstone door frame. There is no sign of either a 3rd tower or common platform hinting perhaps at different dates for the 2 shrines as well as a lack of completion. A free-standing Nandi statue in poor condition sits on the ground in front. The smaller tower, offset slightly northwest, appears to show Yasovarman I features while the larger one lacks ornamentation.

Our hypothesis is an unfinished Hashavarman I upgrade on his father's original tower but we confess this is rather a wild guess!
