Can Tho Museum (Bảo Tàng thành phố Cần Thơ - Pronounced: Baow Tahng! Bahk Liuew)
A city museum located in Vietnam's 5th largest city Can Tho, contains a sizeable collection of artefacts about the people and region of Can Tho. It contains 2 floors, the lower floor would be where we have interest in as it covers displays in regards to the natural and social characteristics of Can Tho, including artefacts and displays relating to the Oc Eo or Khmer culture of the region.
As part of Vietnamese Governments preservation of it's cultural history, a number of artefacts have been designated as a 'National Treasure'. The Can Tho Museum houses a number of 'Oc Eo' artefacts with this special designation, and these include;
From the sixth set of 24 national treasures which was designated on 25 December 2017;
- #4 Nhon Thanh casting mold (1st-7th century)
From the seventh set of 22 national treasures which was designated on 24 December 2018;
- #6 Nhon Thanh Buddha Statue (6th-7th century)
- #7 Nhon Thanh Pottery Jar (5th century)
From the eighth set of 27 national treasures which was designated on 15 January 2020;
- #4 Wooden Linga-Yoni of Nhon Thanh
