Site Size & Condition: Ancient Village Phong Baeng (โพนแบง - Pronounced:)

Phong Baeng is a particularly well-preserved example among several ancient settlement sites in the southern section of the province. It shows an oval form measuring some 400m x 600m, to the outer embankment of the largely intact surrounding moat. The modern-day village of the same name lies a short distance outside of the site to the southeast while the enclosed area today houses a school and Buddhist monastery.

We are unaware of any vestiges within the site but it is listed both on the TFAD provincial survey and CISARK website. (1) Requires verification.

(1) CISARK listings 6160 and 2911 both seem to refer to this one site.
