Site Size & Condition: Medium Prasat Prasat Chom Phra (ปราสาทจอมพระ - Pronounced: Pra-saht Chom Pa)

Partially intact, laterite arogyasala situated on the eastern side of Chom Phra village. The site is orientated very close to an east-west axis and features a partially intact central tower, ruined library and enclosing wall with eastern gopura. A small, laterite-lined pond to the northeast completes the standard arogyasala layout although decorative elements are absent and the sanctuary does have a hurried and/or unfinished air to it.

Various additional ancient features are found in the vicinity although since arogyasalas lacked associated barays, these are more likely to correspond to an ancient settlement in the vicinity than the temple itself.

An intact reservoir, Sa Nong Khu, is situated less than 100m west while a smaller baray(1) can be seen 120m east of Prasat Chom Phra. Both share a similar orientation of some 100 degrees and are likely to date to the Angkor period although, as stated, neither can be associated directly with the arogyasala. Additionally, the eastern reservoir is located within a large, moated rectangular feature measuring some 300m x 350m. The site is today forest covered and lacks any vestiges that we are aware of. We're uncertain as to the antiquity of this feature and what it represents.

(1) We're unaware of its name so is for now listed as T32023.
