Site Size & Condition: Ancient Village Boran Sathan Ban Muang Phia (แหล่งโบราณคดีบ้านเมืองเพีย - Pronounced: Bo-rahn Sa-tahn Ban Moohng Pier)

Substantial-sized, moated, ancient settlement site encompassing the modern-day village of Muang Phia. The site is approximately 1km x 1.2kms and remnant sections of the moat are discernable to the south, east and northwest. Artefacts unearthed here, revealing continued occupation from the Ban Chiang period through the Dvaravati and into the Khmer era, are today housed at a small museum in Wat Mong Khon Luang on the north side of the village. These include Khmer pottery and laterite blocks although their precise provenance within the large settlement area is unknown.
