Site Size & Condition: Small Ruin Si Mahosot Site 11 (ศรีมโหสถ ไซต์ 11 - Pronounced: Si Ma-hosot Sit Sip-et)

Small, rather nondescript laterite vestiges, situated slightly northeast of Muang Si Mahosot and very close to Si Mahosot Site 22, significant for being the location where 5 inscribed bronze objects were unearthed by the Thai FAD.[1] These include bowls, a bonze conch and a candle holder with inscriptions dating to the late 12th century and the reign of Jayavarman VII.[2] The bronze artefacts, along with a stone statue fragment identified as the hand of Lokeshvara, are now housed at the Prachinburi National Museum.

The inscriptions state that the objects were offered by the monarch to an arogyasala or hospital chapel leading certain historians to jump to the conclusion that Site 11 was therefore itself an arogyasala. The site however displays no features common to hospital chapels - or even to late 12th-century sanctuaries generally - and is more likely to share a 7th-century date with most other Si Mahosot sites. The bronzes then were clearly placed here from elsewhere with the nearby arogyasala of Prasat Sra Morakot being a leading suspect.
