Site Size & Condition: Small Prasat That Ban Muang Chan (ธาตุบ้านเมืองจันทร์ - Pronounced: Taat Baan Moo-ang Chan)

This probable 11th-century brick tower, situated in the grounds of Wat Ban Muang Chan, was reconstructed in a Lao Buddhist style during the 16th or 17th-centuries. As with many similar sites, the shrine has been considerably rebuilt and little remains of the original form or decoration. A small, partially-ruined, brick Buddhist hall, also in the modern wat compound, is probably of a later date. Several carved sandstone fragments housed in the hall however do appear to be in a Khmer style and may have been resued during the construction of the later-period structures.

A substantial-sized, intact reservoir is situated immediately east of the wat, measuring some 100m x 150m.
