Site Size & Condition: Gate Vimayapura Prathu Tawan Aok (วิมายปุระ ประตูตะวันออก - Pronounced: Pra-too Tawan Or'k)

Unlike the other three gates of Vimayapura the east gate, or Prathu Tawan Aok, is in a ruined state and today comprises a large number of laterite and sandstone blocks scattered on the ground. Its original design was undoubtedly identical to that of the others.

However, what the east gate does possess that the others don't - situated just a few metres from the laterite vestiges - is an intact, ancient brick kiln. Pottery items unearthed in the vicinity suggest that the kiln was employed in the fabrication of roof tiles. Similar tiles have also been unearthed at the south gate and it is likely the kiln dates back to the Angkor period.
