Site Size & Condition: Medium Tuol Wat Khao Chom Thong (วัดเขาจอมทอง - Pronounced: Wot Kow Chom Tong)

A small, low, forested hill houses the rural monastery Khao Chom Thong which, in turn, houses a small but interesting collection of ancient Angkor-period artefacts. These include a pair of sandstone boundary markers, a sandstone torso, the lower section of a seated Buddha, a sandstone lotus bud, grinding stones and Khmer-style pottery while possibly the most interesting item is a large, sandstone angel or deity head similar to those seen on the entrance causeways at Angkor Thom. The latter artefact, as with the seated Buddha, is in a late 12th-century Bayon-style.

All artefacts were reportedly unearthed in the vicinity while the additional presence of smaller, irregularly shaped, red, sandstone blocks, (some also featuring decorative carvings), supports the idea of there having been an ancient sanctuary on the site. Certain topographical features featuring straight lines and 80-degree alignments are discernable on satellite images immediately east fo the wat.
