Site Size & Condition: Ancient Village Ban Dan Ting (บ้านด่านติง - Pronounced: Baan Dan Ting)

Circular, moated settlement corresponding to present-day Ban Dan Ting, located on the north bank of the Chiang Krai River a few kilometres north of the provincial capital. Traces of the moat, including some elongated ponds and a large reservoir on the northwest side of the village, (15.14388, 102.13148), are discernable on satellite images. Barays are typically located east or northeast of ancient settlements and we feel the reservoir is more likely to have evolved from a section of the surrounding moat.

The village monastery, Wat Dan Ting, houses several unconfirmed artefacts but no ancient sites are known from the village.
