Angkor Thom Spean Ta Keo (អង្គរធំស្ពានតាកែវ - Pronounced: Angkor Tom S'pien Ta Kay'ow )
The ancient 'bridge' or causeway outside the West Gate of Angkor Thom.
The causeway spans across Angkor Thom's moat measuring approximately 100m and is flanked on both sides with demons and gods pulling on a 9 headed naga.
The symbolism is still debated and while there's an obvious connection with the Churning of the Sea of Milk creation myth, 'Rainbow Bridges' are also considered to represent the connection between the world of man (outside the walls) and the realm of the gods, (inside). The north gate is one of the best-preserved and far less busy than the popular south one.
