Site Size & Condition: Medium Tuol Kok Pong Toek (គោកពងទឹក - Pronounced: Kok Pong Teuk)

Reported to be some 200m x 200m this large earthen mound reveals pottery fragments but no ancient temple vestiges. An adjacent man-made pond is noted as being associated with the site.

We assume that this CISARK listed site may indeed be the more recently documented site Tuol Prasat Kroes Prasat located north of Phum Kbal Tonsaong.

The Battambang Provincial Museum houses a sandstone block carved on each side with reliefs of Bodhisattvas which is noted as having been found at a site named Prasat Kok Pong, Banteay Chhmar commune. We are guessing this is the same site although this is unconfirmed. The sculpture is listed as displaying a Khleang art style so, if the two sites are indeed one and the same, would suggest the presence of an early 11th-century Mahayana Buddhist sanctuary at the location.
