Site Size & Condition: Medium Tuol Prasat Tram Neak (ប្រាសាទត្រាំនាគ - Pronounced: Pra-saht T'ram Niahk)

Active Buddhist monastery whose compound includes a moated rectangular area, featuring a recently constructed shrine, but which was formerly the site of an ancient temple. Somewhat ironically, the shrine's star exhibit today is a well-preserved, sandstone, naga antefix which was unearthed during the building of the shrine. The abbot reports that there was a second similarly elaborate and relatively well-preserved naga although that one has subsequently disappeared. (The imposing shrine was constructed in a faux Angkor Wat style which is thought to be the art style which corresponds the closest to that of the nagas and additional artefacts unearthed on site.)

A substantial collection of artefacts is housed in a simple open-air shrine near the wat's western entrance and includes a number of pedestals, sections of octagonal colonette, smaller naga antefixes and a number of carved and uncarved sandstone blocks. (A few laterite blocks can also be seen around the wat grounds.)

Resident monks report that all aforementioned artefacts were found on site implying that the original structure was likely to have been a substantial-sized one. An eastern causeway leads from the moated area to a partially-intact reservoir situated some 100m to the east. (To the right of the path a carved sandstone fragment can also be seen in an adjacent field.) The moated area and reservoir display an orientation of approximately 85-86 degrees.
