Site Size & Condition: Reservoir Sra Prasat Phanom Rung (สระปราสาทพนมรุ้ง - Pronounced: S'ra P'ra-saht Pa-nohm Rung!)

This unnamed listing represents a group of three ponds (which we have listed simply as Sra Prasat Phanom Rung) situated amid what is today a wooded area, a short distance north of the main eastern entrance way to Prasat Phanom Rung. All three appear to share a roughly similar c. 85-degree alignment to the causeway and are clearly man-made features. The closest to the causeway, some 150m distant, is a small, 25m x 80m elongated pond just beyond which is an approximately 100m x 110m pond. East of this, and on a similar axis, the third pond covers some 75m x 100m. (A fourth, now dry, reservoir located west of here close to the main shrine area is listed separately as T31183.)

Heavy tree cover, in the case of the latter two sites in particular, makes precise orientation hard to calculate but the easternmost pond, located 100m north of the Khleang Prasat Phanom Rung may share its alignment and axis.

The original disposition, size and purpose of these three ponds is unknown.
