Site Size & Condition: Medium Tuol Wat Prei Preah (វត្តព្រៃព្រះ - Pronounced: Woit P'rei Prayer)

The site of a modern temple where one can find a number of nice little surprises. As we suspected from our initial satellite scans, this forested area is a former ancient temple mound site, with numerous artefacts found in the temple complex.

Of particular interest is the large boundary stone that depicts a seated Buddha and a 7-headed Naga. The boundary stone has been painted in an array of colours and be found as the centre piece of the towering shrine in the southwest corner of the complex. At the base of the shrine behind the boundary stone is an undocumented stele inscription with scripts on both sides.

Scattered outside the back of one of the wooden shrines are a number of carved and uncarved sandstone blocks, including what looks like either the bottom fragment of a linga or it may be the bottom half of an unfinished door frame colonette.

We feel that it is highly likely that this site was a former temple mound site, as we can't picture villagers moving 'uncarved' stones from other temple mound sites for safekeeping.
