Site Size & Condition: Wat Wat Sra Morakot (วัดสระมรกต - Pronounced: Wot Sa Mora-kot)

The active Buddhist monastery Sra Morakot, located between Noen Sra Bua to the west and the Sra Morakot baray to the east, houses several Khmer-period artefacts which don't appear to have made it into the adjacent Sra Morakot Museum.

We confess to not having got around to an on-the-ground survey ourselves yet but, in the meantime, according to photographs available on Google, the wat possesses a large, highly eroded, laterite relief featuring what appears to be a seated Buddha as well as a sandstone relief featuring 2 more seated Buddhas, or possibly worshippers in a later Bayon, or even post-Bayon style. Additional artefacts include a damaged sandstone pedestal and a rounded laterite block which, while also highly eroded, could correspond to a Shiva linga, along with a number of Bayon era laterite lions, nagas and lingam pedestals. While Prasat Sra Morakot and the adjacent sanctuary Boran Sathan would appear to be likely contenders, their specific provenance remains unconfirmed.

There may be other objects we're unaware of so, for now, verification is required.
