Ban Nong Sung (บ้านโนนสูง - Pronounced: Baan Nawng Soong)
Substantial-sized rectangular area, clearly discernable on satellite images, bordered by straight lines of vegetation and aligned a few degrees off an east-west orientation. Total area is some 210m x 420m with the interior now filled by paddy-fields. The enclosing lines are narrow and it's not apparent from satellite images if they correspond to degraded embankments or, more likely, the course of ancient walls.
The enclosed area is at an identical level to the surrounding area and, we feel, probably more likely to represent an ancient settlement or large sanctuary site than reservoir although further verification is required. Small reservoirs with identical alignments can be seen beyond the northern edge and in the southeastern quadrant of the enclosed area. It also remains to be determined as to why the southeastern corner of the area has remained to this date uncultivated.
