Site Size & Condition: Inscriptions Charuk Thep Suryavarman I (จารึกเทพสุริยวรมันที่ 1 - Pronounced: Jar Reuk Tehp Sur-eeya-vara-man Tee Neung)

A large sandstone stele features an inscription in Sanskrit and ancient Khmer, employing Khmer text, recording the donation of land and slaves to a local hermitage or temple. The inscription is dated to the early 11th century and the reign of Suryavarman I. The artefact is currently housed in the Kanchanaphisek National Museum in Pathum Thani Province although its precise origin is simply described as Sa Kaeo Province. Due to the proliferation of temples from that period in Tha Phraya District, that is likely to be the general area of provenance.
