Prasat Bateut Bo (ปราสาทหนองถลาง - Pronounced: Pra-saht Bar-teu Bo)
We assume this FAD-listed site, located just west of the village of Na Ngam, corresponds to a mound and ancient temple site although we don't have details of their survey. The site is apparently also known to locals as Prasat Phee Khmu, or Ghost Prasat. The invariably erroneous FAD GPS coordinates provided actually indicate a location amid farmland south of the village (13.93004, 102.72999) but we're unable to discern any obvious candidates in the area indicated and have listed, what we feel, is a more promising feature situated some 500m to the west.
Our speculative alternative consists of a tree-covered area bordered on its south and east sides by a canal or moat meeting at a right angle and displaying an east-west orientation. While the outline of the plot continues - without an obvious moat - on the west side, any northern edge of this square or rectangular area features village buildings and is today indiscernible.
We repeat, our interpretation of the coordinates is conjecture and if the FAD location is more accurate than we give credit for, then there could potentially be 2 sites of interest in the area. Both the original listing and our alternative require verification.
