Site Size & Condition: Small Prasat Prasat Chrei (ប្រាសាទជ្រៃ - Pronounced: Pra-saht Chrei)

With its sprawling and perfectly placed ficus tree, Prasat Chrei is certainly the most picturesque of many attractive sites at Sambor Prei Kuk. It's also one of the oldest and brick analysis gives the tower a comparable late-6th-century construction date to Sambor Prei Kuk N19 and Prasat Srei Krup Leak (Sambor).

Despite, or perhaps because of, the aforementioned ficus, the tower is in relatively good condition with some well-preserved brick reliefs visible between the roots. An equally well-preserved Sanskrit inscription on the doorjamb is probably a slightly later, Bhavavarman II, addition.

The site sits within the middle and outer enclosure of Prasat Sambor (Sambor).
