Soi Vibhavadi Rangsit 60 (ซอย วิภาวดีรังสิต 60 - Pronounced: Soy Vib-ha-vadee Rang-sit Hok-sip)
Erroneously described elsewhere as the Brill Condominium this small, al fresco depository is actually located in a small lane - Soi Vibhavadi Rangsit 60 - to the rear of the condominium. A collection of cafes and noodle shops surround a small car park opposite the Black Way Auto Wash with a spirit shrine located under a large tree to the rear of the parking area.
Half a dozen or so carved, sandstone elements are found on the ground around said shrine including what appear to be decorative bases of doorframes. (Postholes for wooden doors are visible.) According to locals, the vestiges belong to the Thai businessman who owns the land while his nearby house reportedly houses a number of additional artefacts. We were informed the objects in the shrine were ones that he 'couldn't be bothered to move' so presumably the ones he did take into his private house are of greater importance and value.
We have no idea of the nature of the artefacts that are not on public view and the provenance of all artefacts was said to be simply, "Cambodia". On a general note, persistent questioning of wealthy businessmen on how and where they obtained their - possibly dubiously sourced - ancient artefacts is not recommended so our on-the-ground research stopped there. (See also for example the Siam Triangle Hotel.)
The art style appears to be 12th century - possibly Angkor Wat period.
